When shopping online, protection of payment data is essential. Payplug guarantees the highest level of security for both you and your customers.
Payplug is a payment institution approved by the ACPR, the Prudential Control and Resolution Authority of the Banque de France. To obtain this banking approval, payment providers must comply with strict requirements regarding security rules, governance and internal control mechanisms, and capital ratios.
In 2012, Payplug became the first cloud-based financial service to be approved by the ACPR. This allows us to rely on a scalable and secure infrastructure.
PCI DSS: the highest security standard on the market
The processing and security of credit card data is a very sensitive subject, as any vulnerability can be exploited by cybercriminals. There is no need to worry with Payplug: our solution is PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) certified, the highest security standard for the processing and storage of payment data on the Internet. This certification is mandatory for accepting card payments on merchant sites.
A secure payment page
We offer different models for payment page integration (pop-up, redirected, embedded). Each is protected by the HTTPS protocol, which means that sensitive data (credit card number, validity date) are encrypted and therefore cannot be intercepted in clear text by a third party.
In addition, our payment pages include elements to reassure your buyers: the words “100% secure”, a padlock image, as well as the logos of the types of cards accepted.
PSD2 compatible modules
Our API and payment modules are compliant with the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2), which specifically aims to strengthen the security of bank card payments on the Internet. We can request strong or frictionless authentication according to the merchant’s preference, then apply the authentication chosen by the issuing banks for each transaction.
Strong authentication
Your buyer must authenticate themself to validate the payment using their bank’s application, by entering a code, or a biometric fingerprint.
Frictionless authentication
Authentication is made transparent to your customer, with the data exchanged between your payment solution and their bank.
